This Supernatural Story
The acclaimed director pushes his film-making abilities through this clever supernatural story shot entirely from the perspective of the phantom. After a clan including mother Rebekah and troubled teenage daughter Chloe moves into their new suburban house, the lens – AKA the Presence – tracks their movements. The teen shows signs of sensing the supernatural presence, and the entity appears protective of her. Yet what is the reason? This Creepy Thriller
The director's locked-room horror stands strong despite the lack of a follow-up. Located in 1970s Colorado, multiple disappearances has made the local kids anxious. Once Finney is taken by “the Grabber” and locked up in a dungeon, he anticipates a terrible outcome. However, the non-functional line on the wall repeatedly calls, with spooky callers giving advice, and the intuitive nightmares of Gwen, his sister may be his salvation. A solid creepfest. The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the conflict between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for materialism in Showalter's wonderfully garish biopic about the fallen religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Garfield plays the greedy Jim, who proclaims initially, asserting religious justification for riches. Both individuals commence capitalizing on the nation's spiritual convictions. It's a riot of tacky decor, overdone appearance and hypocrisy, however Jessica Chastain succeeds to depict Tammy Faye with compassion. October 14th, early morning, Film4
